New Delhi [India], May 14 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday announced that security forces killed 31 notorious Naxalites in the Kurraguttalu Hills (KGH) on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. The operation marks the most significant offensive against Naxalism to date.
In a post on X, Shah stated that the security forces achieved a historic breakthrough in the mission to make India Naxal-free by neutralizing 31 Naxalites in the Kurraguttalu Hills, which had been a unified headquarters for major Naxal organizations, including PLGA Battalion 1, DKSZC, TSC, and CRC. These hills were previously a stronghold where Naxal training, strategic planning, and weapon development took place.
Home Minister Shah congratulated the CRPF, STF, and DRG soldiers for their bravery and successful completion of the operation within just 21 days. He expressed pride in the security forces, emphasizing that the tricolor now flies proudly over the former red terror zone. Remarkably, the operation was conducted without any casualties among the security forces, despite challenging weather and the inaccessible terrain of the mountainous area.
Reaffirming the central government’s stance on eradicating Naxalism, Shah reiterated that India would be Naxal-free by March 31, 2026, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised the security forces for their unwavering resolve and commitment to the mission.
Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Gyanendra Pratap Singh, confirmed that 31 Naxalites were neutralized, with 28 identified so far. Singh stated that the operation, named Operation Black Forest, involved teams from Cobra, CRPF, and the Chhattisgarh police. The operation spanned an area of 1,200 square kilometers, and authorities believe the number of neutralized Naxalites could be higher.
Singh emphasized that the security forces are dedicated to fulfilling the resolve made by Home Minister Amit Shah to eliminate Naxalism from India by March 31, 2026. (ANI)
