Tel Aviv, April 25 (ANI): The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on launchers belonging to Hezbollah across multiple locations in southern Lebanon, the military confirmed on Saturday.
According to the Israeli Air Force, the targeted launchers were located in Dir al-Zahrani, Kafr Remen, and al-Sa’miyeh. The military stated that these sites posed a direct threat to Israeli civilians and forces.
“In three areas in southern Lebanon, the Air Force struck launchers belonging to Hezbollah… The launchers that were attacked posed a real threat to IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel,” the statement said.
The strikes are part of ongoing operations by the Israel Defense Forces along the forward defense line to neutralize perceived threats.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces also targeted similar Hezbollah launch sites in Yaroun and Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon. The military reiterated that these launchers were considered immediate threats to both troops and civilians.
On Friday, the IDF reported striking Hezbollah military infrastructure in the Deir Aames area, from where rockets were allegedly launched toward Israeli territory, including the town of Shtula. The military described the action as a response to what it called a violation of an existing ceasefire.
Additionally, the IDF accused Hezbollah of using ambulances as cover to transport weapons and operatives. According to the military, a search operation in southern Lebanon uncovered an ambulance allegedly used to conceal explosives, mortar shells, magazines, and a grenade.
“Hezbollah uses ambulances and medical teams as cover for transporting weapons and operatives, undermining the protections granted to medical facilities under international law,” the statement added.
The developments come amid heightened tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, with both sides exchanging accusations of ceasefire violations. (ANI)
