Hyderabad, April 25 (ANI): Mariano Caucino, Argentina’s Ambassador to India, said that the two countries share a “very elevated degree of complementarity,” underscoring growing economic and strategic ties.
Speaking at a Diplomatic Conclave hosted by Woxsen University, Caucino noted that India has emerged as Argentina’s sixth-largest economic partner, reflecting deepening trade and cooperation.
“Our countries maintain a growing economic interaction stemming from the objective complementarity between our economies,” he said, adding that bilateral ties have strengthened significantly since being elevated to a strategic partnership in 2019.
Caucino emphasized that India’s policy of diversifying global partnerships is a “wise strategy,” noting that Argentina is well-positioned to contribute to both India’s food and energy security.
He highlighted that Argentina has already become India’s leading supplier of edible oils, while cooperation in critical minerals is increasingly gaining strategic importance.
Addressing broader global dynamics, Caucino said that competition among nations is a natural outcome of sovereign ambitions in an interconnected world. He also acknowledged India’s growing influence on the global stage, describing it as a country that is attracting increasing international attention.
Referring to recent diplomatic milestones, he noted that 2025 marked a historic moment in bilateral relations with the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Argentina.
The conclave was attended by diplomats from several Latin American nations, including Costa Rica, Mexico, and Panama, and featured discussions on India–Latin America cooperation, global affairs, and education.
In a post on X, Caucino described the event as an opportunity for meaningful dialogue on international cooperation and thanked Woxsen University for hosting the gathering. (ANI)
