TEL AVIV, Israel, May 7 (ANI): The Israeli Air Force (IAF) on Thursday said it carried out strikes targeting infrastructure allegedly used by Hezbollah for terrorist activities in southern Lebanon.
In a post on X, the IAF said, “The Air Force struck a short while ago an infrastructure for producing means of combat and several buildings in military use by the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the Nabatieh area.”
The Israeli Air Force also said that approximately 20 additional military targets linked to Hezbollah were attacked overnight in southern Lebanon.
According to the IAF, the targets included weapons storage facilities, a launch site for unmanned aerial vehicles, structures allegedly used by the organization to launch drones toward Israeli forces, and a militant cell accused of transporting weaponry by truck.
The Israeli military said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues operations aimed at removing threats to Israeli civilians and troops stationed in southern Lebanon.
“The IDF continues to operate to remove threats to Israeli civilians and IDF forces in southern Lebanon. Since the beginning of the ceasefire understandings, more than 220 terrorists and commanders from the Hezbollah terror organization, who posed a threat to IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel, have been eliminated,” the statement said.
The IAF further stated that in what it described as a precise strike in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district, the Israeli Air Force eliminated the commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force unit.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military again ordered residents to evacuate from three areas in southern Lebanon, according to Al Jazeera.
The evacuation orders were issued for the towns of Deir al-Zahrani, Bafroua, and Haboush.
“In light of the terrorist group Hezbollah’s violation of the ceasefire agreement, the military is compelled to take decisive action against it,” the army said in a statement quoted by Al Jazeera.
“Anyone who remains near Hezbollah operatives, facilities, or combat equipment is putting their life at risk,” the statement added. (ANI)
