Tel Aviv [Israel], July 7 (ANI/TPS): Israeli police have dismantled a money exchange network accused of laundering and transferring funds to terrorist organizations, seizing approximately 8 million shekels (USD 2.39 million) in cash, checks, and securities, officials announced on Sunday.
According to police, four suspects were arrested during a coordinated raid in May across Samaria. The crackdown targeted strategic locations, including the Al-Khalij exchange network — a large operation with 11 branches throughout Judea and Samaria — as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the financing of terrorism.
Al-Khalij was officially declared an illegal association in 2024 due to its alleged links to terror financing. However, during the May operation, investigators found that 10 of its 11 branches continued to operate in violation of that order.
During the raid on the network’s Jenin branch, authorities apprehended the owner of the company along with three senior members of its management, all of whom were conducting ongoing business activities at the site despite the ban.
Israeli security forces continue to intensify operations targeting financial networks believed to fund terrorism. (ANI/TPS)
