Washington, DC [US], July 7 (ANI): Tech billionaire Elon Musk on Monday reignited his feud with US President Donald Trump, mocking the administration for its lack of prosecutions related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
In a post on his social media platform X, Musk shared an image titled “The Official Jeffrey Epstein Paedophile Arrest Counter”, which displayed “0000.” He captioned the post: “What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again…”
The post came hours after Axios reported on a new memo from the Justice Department and FBI, which concluded that there was no evidence Epstein, a convicted sex offender, blackmailed powerful individuals or kept a so-called “client list” as alleged by conspiracy theories. The memo also reaffirmed the medical examiner’s finding that Epstein died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019 and indicated no further prosecutions are expected.
Musk’s dig is the latest escalation in his public feud with Trump, which intensified last month after the Tesla CEO accused the president of being mentioned in unreleased Epstein files.
“[Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” Musk alleged in a June post on X, adding, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
The allegation came shortly after Trump threatened to cancel government contracts with companies linked to Musk, despite Musk reportedly being one of the largest contributors to Trump’s 2024 campaign.
Trump has repeatedly denied having any ties to Epstein, saying last year, “I was never on Epstein’s plane, or at his ‘stupid’ island.” He also used the opportunity to call for stronger laws regulating artificial intelligence, warning it “will be a big and very dangerous problem in the future!”
On Sunday, Trump further criticized Musk in a lengthy social media post for suggesting the creation of a third political party, which Trump argued would only cause “disruption and chaos.”
“I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks,” Trump wrote. “The one thing third parties are good for is the creation of complete and total disruption & chaos, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!”
The back-and-forth between the two former allies adds another layer of tension to the upcoming election season, with both men vying for influence over conservative voters and policy debates. (ANI)
