Washington, DC [US], July 24 (ANI): US President Donald Trump has urged American tech giants to abandon what he called “radical globalism” and prioritize American workers and infrastructure over foreign investments and hiring—specifically calling out countries like India, China, and Ireland.
“For too long, much of our tech industry pursued a radical globalism that left millions of Americans feeling distrustful and betrayed,” Trump said. “Many of our largest tech companies have reaped the blessings of American freedom while building their factories in China, hiring workers in India, and slashing profits in Ireland—all the while dismissing and even censoring their fellow citizens here at home.”
Trump made the remarks on Wednesday during an address at the All-In Podcast and the Hill & Valley Forum AI Summit in Washington, DC. The comments came ahead of unveiling his administration’s new “AI Action Plan”, a sweeping initiative aimed at boosting domestic innovation and job creation in the artificial intelligence sector.
As part of the initiative, Trump signed three new executive orders:
- Expediting permits for AI infrastructure projects,
- Boosting exports of US-developed AI technologies, and
- Banning federal procurement of AI systems that display political or ideological bias.
Calling on American tech firms to be “all in for America,” Trump said, “We want you to put America first. That’s all we ask. Partner with our tech geniuses and help us achieve this vision. Today, we’re releasing the White House AI Action Plan. Big stuff.”
Trump noted that major tech corporations—including Meta, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft—are projected to invest more than $320 billion this year in data centers and AI infrastructure. He also highlighted that Nvidia has pledged $500 billion over the next four years.
“Under the Trump administration, we are going to have leaders who build up our nation—not foreign nations,” he said. “This colossal investment in AI infrastructure and other industries—like automobiles—will create thousands of high-paying jobs, including many for blue-collar workers.”
Trump also criticized his predecessor, President Joe Biden, for what he described as “overregulation” of AI exports. “The last administration was obsessed with imposing extreme restrictions on AI, which alienated our allies and pushed them toward China and others,” he claimed. He added that he had repealed the “so-called Biden Diffusion Rule,” which he said had crippled American AI exports.
“We created the digital age,” Trump concluded. “Now, we are leading the world into a golden age—the golden age of America. With your help, that golden age will be built by American workers, powered by American energy, and improved by American artificial intelligence.” (ANI)
