
New York [US], August 17 (ANI): Three people were killed and eight others injured after multiple gunmen opened fire inside a restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, in the early hours of Sunday, according to the New York Post.
The deceased were identified as three men, ages 27, 35, and one of unknown age. The injured were rushed to the hospital soon after the incident.
According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, officers responded to calls of a shooting at a restaurant in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood shortly before 3:30 a.m., the New York Post reported. At least 36 shell casings were recovered at the scene.
The New York City Police Department has launched an investigation. No arrests have been made so far, and the suspects have yet to be identified, the report said.
Earlier on August 9, three people, including a woman, were injured when a teenage gunman opened fire near a crowded intersection in New York’s Times Square. The shooting followed a dispute between two people near the intersection of 44th Street and 7th Avenue around 1:20 a.m., according to the NYPD.
Crowds of people were seen dispersing in panic outside the popular Hard Rock Cafe after hearing gunfire, the New York Post reported. An 18-year-old woman was shot in the neck, while a 19-year-old man and a 65-year-old man sustained leg injuries.
All three victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital and were reported to be in stable condition. Police arrested the teenage suspect at the scene and recovered a firearm. His identity has not been disclosed due to his age, and charges have not yet been filed.
