Tel Aviv [Israel], August 27 (ANI/TPS): The Israeli Air Force carried out a targeted airstrike that killed Mahmoud al-Asoud, commander of Hamas’ General Security Apparatus for the Western Gaza sector. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), al-Asoud played a central role in the security apparatus for years and was regarded as a key source of operational knowledge within the organization.
Meanwhile, Division 162 forces continued operations in northern Gaza, engaging in battles in Jabaliya and on the outskirts of Gaza City. The troops destroyed terrorist infrastructure and eliminated several operatives.
In parallel, Division 99 forces operating on the city’s outskirts located and destroyed multiple Hamas observation posts that posed threats to Israeli troops.
In southern Gaza, Division 36 forces, in coordination with the Air Force, killed several terrorists in the Khan Yunis area and dismantled both aboveground and underground military infrastructure. Israeli aircraft, with naval guidance, also struck a weapons storage facility and a site used for repairing naval weapons in Khan Yunis. (ANI/TPS)
