New Delhi [India], September 1 (ANI): Oil Marketing Companies have reduced the price of commercial 19 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 51.50, effective Monday, September 1. However, there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic cylinders.
In Delhi, the retail price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be Rs 1,580, down from Rs 1,631.50. In Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai, commercial LPG cylinder prices have been revised to Rs 1,684, Rs 1,531.50, and Rs 1,738, respectively, according to the Indian Oil Corporation.
Meanwhile, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged since April 8. In Delhi, a 14.2 kg cylinder costs Rs 853, while prices in Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai stand at Rs 868.50, Rs 879, and Rs 852.50, respectively.
The reduction in commercial LPG rates is expected to benefit small businesses in the national capital, including shops, hotels, and food outlets, that depend on cylinders for daily operations.
In August, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the Centre’s decision to provide Rs 30,000 crore to oil companies in twelve installments, which has helped maintain LPG price stability across the country. On August 8, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved this compensation package to support oil companies amid global uncertainty. (ANI)
