Dubai [UAE], November 15 (ANI): The Indian Air Force contingent, featuring the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and Tejas fighter aircraft, has arrived at Al Maktoum Airbase to participate in the Dubai Air Show, the Indian Air Force Media Co-ordination Centre (IAF-MCC) announced on Saturday.
The global aviation event, scheduled from November 17–21, will include participation from more than 100 air forces. According to the IAF-MCC, the show aims to enhance interoperability, strengthen operational capabilities, and promote both military and business cooperation.
In a post on X, the IAF-MCC said, “An IAF contingent comprising of Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and Tejas fighters landed at Al Maktoum Airbase, Dubai for the Dubai Air Show. The global event, with participation from over 100 Air Forces, aims to enhance interoperability, operational edge, and foster military as well as business cooperation. The event is scheduled to take place at Al Maktoum Airbase from 17 to 21 Nov 25.”
The Indian Air Force’s renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), formed in 1996, is one of the few nine-aircraft aerobatic teams in the world and the only one in Asia. The team has performed more than 500 displays across India and has represented the professionalism of the Indian Air Force at air shows in China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, and the UAE.
Flying the Hawk Mk 132 aircraft, the team captivates audiences with formation loops, barrel rolls, crossovers, and precision maneuvers that demonstrate exceptional teamwork and planning. SKAT carries the motto “Sadaiva Sarvottam,” meaning “Always the Best.”
According to the official Dubai Air Show website, the event began in 1986 as Arab Air and was initially held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. From its first edition featuring 200 exhibitors and 25 aircraft, it has evolved into a premier global aerospace platform. Today, the Dubai Air Show hosts more than 1,500 exhibitors, over 148,000 attendees, more than 200 aircraft on display, and multiple conference tracks featuring insights from more than 350 industry leaders.
