Kyiv [Ukraine], November 16 (ANI): Russia launched three ballistic missiles over Ukraine during overnight attacks from Friday into Saturday, as the death toll rose to nine, according to Ukrainian authorities, EuroNews reported. At least nine people were killed and 53 others injured over the past 24 hours due to Russian strikes in Ukraine, according to regional officials.
The attacks included three Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” air-launched ballistic missiles and 135 strike drones, including Shaheds, launched from areas including Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Chauda Hvardiyske in the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, EuroNews reported. Thirteen locations were hit by drones and one missile, while debris from destroyed drones fell in four other areas.
Russia’s Friday attack on Kyiv killed seven people and injured 36, causing widespread damage across nine neighborhoods, according to the city’s mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko.
In southern Ukraine, 34 communities in the Kherson region were targeted, including the frontline city of Kherson, divided by the Dnipro River, where one person was reported dead, according to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin. In Donetsk, one person was injured in Kramatorsk, a city known as a reunification point for families and soldiers, EuroNews reported.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces stated that two Kh-47M2 missiles and 91 Shahed drones were either shot down or jammed. Additionally, a 65-year-old man was reportedly killed in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk, while the regions of Sumy and Kharkiv also experienced overnight attacks.
Meanwhile, a major oil terminal in the Russian port city of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai temporarily suspended operations—accounting for roughly 2% of global exports—following Ukrainian attacks on Friday, according to multiple Russian officials and Telegram channels, EuroNews reported. (ANI)
