New Delhi [India], December 4 (ANI): The French Embassy in India extended warm greetings on the occasion of Navy Day 2025.
In a post on X, the Embassy stated, “Congratulations @IndianNavy on #NavyDay2025. The France-India naval cooperation is strengthened through boosting India’s strategic autonomy with Rafale Marines, our Maritime Cooperation Dialogue, regular joint exercises and patrols, together upholding a free, open and secure #IndoPacific.”
The Indian Navy will mark Navy Day 2025 with an Operational Demonstration on December 4 at Shangumugham, Thiruvananthapuram, according to a press release. This continues the Navy’s initiative to host the annual event at locations beyond major naval bases. In recent years, celebrations were held in Puri, Odisha, and Sindhudurg, Maharashtra.
The mega event will offer citizens an opportunity to witness various facets of the Navy’s multidomain operations. The demonstration will showcase state-of-the-art operational platforms and reflect the Navy’s role as the “Preferred Security Partner” in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), guided by the broader vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).
The Operational Demonstration will feature coordinated maneuvers by frontline platforms, highlighting the force’s ability to deliver power and precision across the maritime spectrum. It will display seamless coordination between surface, subsurface, and aerial assets, underscoring the Navy’s readiness to secure India’s maritime frontiers.
In line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the event will also feature a range of indigenously built platforms that represent India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing. These assets embody the Navy’s sustained efforts under the “Make in India” initiative to build a modern, technologically advanced maritime force.
The celebration will further highlight the Navy’s preparedness and deterrence capabilities as demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, reaffirming its ability to strike with speed, precision, and dominance. The event stands as a tribute to the professionalism, discipline, and courage of the men and women of the Indian Navy who safeguard the nation’s maritime interests.
Navy Day also commemorates the Navy’s pivotal role in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, during which Indian missile boats launched a decisive attack on Karachi harbour as part of Operation Trident. (ANI)
