New Delhi [India], December 19 (ANI): Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday said the bills passed during the Winter Session of Parliament would play a major role in advancing India toward the goal of a “Viksit Bharat,” emphasizing that the session was proactive and outcome-oriented.
Rijiju said the legislation approved during the session would significantly improve the lives of millions of people across the country. He also highlighted the discussions marking the 150th year of “Vande Mataram,” noting that the debate had helped rekindle a strong sense of patriotism.
“The 2025 Winter Session is a very proactive session. The bills passed in this session will play a big role in improving the lives of crores of people and in making India a developed nation. The 150th year of ‘Vande Mataram’ discussion was very fruitful and important. Through extensive deliberations, we have further awakened the spirit of patriotism,” Rijiju said.
The minister also referred to discussions on electoral reforms, stating that long-standing public concerns were addressed clearly during debates in both Houses of Parliament. He criticised the Opposition for what he described as unfounded allegations against the Election Commission of India and the electoral system.
“Many questions were raised about the election process, but after the debates on electoral reforms in both Houses, everything became clear. Those who falsely accused the Election Commission and the electoral system were exposed,” he said.
Rijiju noted that this was the first time Parliament held separate discussions on the Election Commission and electoral reforms, which, he said, demonstrated the government’s openness to debate and transparency. He added that the discussions had removed any remaining confusion on the issue.
Speaking about the passage of the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, Rijiju described it as a significant reform aimed at curbing corruption and increasing transparency. He said such reforms reflected the government’s commitment to continuous improvement in governance.
The Parliament on Friday passed the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB–G RAM G) Bill, with the Rajya Sabha approving the legislation after it was cleared by the Lok Sabha.
The bill guarantees 125 days of wage employment per rural household, an increase from the existing 100 days, for adult members willing to undertake unskilled manual work.
