New Delhi [India], January 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday received a delegation of Arab foreign ministers, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and heads of Arab delegations who are in India for the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the interaction, the prime minister highlighted the deep and historic people-to-people ties between India and the Arab world, noting that these longstanding connections have continued to inspire and strengthen relations over the years.
Prime Minister Modi outlined his vision for the India–Arab partnership in the years ahead and reaffirmed India’s commitment to further deepening cooperation in trade and investment, energy, technology, healthcare, and other priority areas for the mutual benefit of people on both sides.
He also reiterated India’s continued support for the people of Palestine and welcomed ongoing peace efforts, including the Gaza peace plan. The prime minister conveyed his appreciation for the Arab League’s important role in supporting initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
Earlier in the day, Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi held talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Jaishankar said the discussions focused on trade, critical minerals, and regional developments.
In a post on X, Jaishankar said it was a pleasure interacting with Albusaidi and noted that their discussions reflected the trust and comfort underpinning the strategic partnership between India and Oman.
Albusaidi arrived in New Delhi earlier on Saturday for the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the visit would further strengthen the multifaceted strategic partnership between India and Oman.
India is hosting the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Saturday, co-chaired by India and the United Arab Emirates. Foreign ministers from other Arab League member states, along with the Arab League secretary general, are participating in the meeting, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
