Tokyo [Japan], November 13 (ANI): The Japan Mobility Show, a major automotive exhibition held in Tokyo with participation from more than 510 companies, highlighted the booth of motorcycle giant Yamaha Motor.
Yamaha Motor CEO Motofumi Shitara reaffirmed the company’s commitment to creating deep satisfaction and excitement, a philosophy rooted in 70 years of craftsmanship. “The development project of MOTOROiD began to explore and redefine the relationship between humans and mobility. In 2017, MOTOROiD stood up on its own and interacted with its rider. In 2023, Yamaha introduced MOTOROiD2 to express vitality. Two years later, our development team is presenting the next stage of progress,” Shitara said.
The third-generation MOTOROiD, known as MOTOROiD λ (lambda), is equipped with artificial intelligence that learns complex actions based on the rider’s movements. Yamaha expects the AI-powered MOTOROiD λ to assist riders in a way similar to the relationship between a horse and its rider.
Yamaha also collaborated with Toyota to develop a hydrogen-powered motorcycle capable of running 100 kilometers on a single charge, reaching a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour. The bike has already passed exhaust regulations and is nearing its market launch.
Additionally, Yamaha introduced its “EV Three Brothers” lineup, featuring a pure electric motorcycle, a hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid model, all designed to meet future mobility trends. The company also presented a three-wheeled motorcycle with independent steering for the two front wheels and one rear wheel, offering smooth handling, efficiency, and an exciting ride.
To enhance daily life, Yamaha continues to develop electric power-assisted bicycles and wheelchairs. Its new large-wheel wheelchair is designed for rough terrains, while a smart wheelchair can be customized for both city and suburban use.
“Yamaha Motor is a company that creates satisfaction and excitement,” Shitara said. “We will continue to inspire people’s desire to enjoy life.” He added that Yamaha’s evolution will never stop as it strives to meet the needs of society while pursuing excellence in craftsmanship. (ANI)
