Abu Dhabi [UAE], May 21 (ANI): Abu Dhabi is set to unveil the world’s first AI cognitive city, Aion Sentia, marking a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming urban life through state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and cognitive technology. With a target completion date of 2027, the project is part of the emirate’s broader strategy to embed AI into all sectors, reshaping how residents live, work, and interact with their surroundings, according to Khaleej Times.
Aion Sentia will utilize AI to deliver predictive services, automate infrastructure management, and optimize energy consumption in real time. “This city will not merely be intelligent; it will be cognitive, learning and adapting alongside its residents,” said Daniele Marinelli, CEO of My Aion Inc., the Italian company spearheading the project.
At the core of the cognitive city platform is MAIA, an advanced AI-driven mobile app designed to directly connect residents with city services. From automating public transport schedules to integrating smart home systems and enhancing healthcare through AI, MAIA aims to deliver a streamlined, tech-centric lifestyle for every citizen.
This ambitious venture stems from a strategic alliance between Abu Dhabi’s Bold Technologies, a subsidiary of Bold Holding, and Italian AI firm My Aion Inc. The initiative is structured under a USD 2.5 billion Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.
As reported by Khaleej Times, Aion Sentia intends to integrate both public and private services into a unified, user-friendly platform powered by MAIA. Marinelli described the MAIA app as more than just generative AI, calling it a cognitive framework capable of real-time decision-making based on individual user data. Unlike conventional applications that operate with fragmented information, MAIA’s Personal Profile Graph evolves through user interaction, gaining insight into personal preferences, habits, and even relationships.
Expected to launch within the next 18 months, Aion Sentia will debut in Abu Dhabi before expanding globally. Marinelli emphasized that the emirate’s supportive regulatory environment, strong cybersecurity infrastructure, and advanced digital systems made it an ideal setting for the project.
“Here, people are not only receptive to innovation; they actively welcome it,” he said, highlighting how Abu Dhabi’s technology-forward landscape enables seamless integration of AI into everyday life, Khaleej Times reported. (ANI)
