New Delhi [India], November 19 (ANI): National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will host his counterparts from the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) member states in New Delhi on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced. Delegations from the Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will participate, with Seychelles attending as an observer and Malaysia invited as a guest.
The 7th Meeting of the NSAs of CSC provides an opportunity to review ongoing cooperation across the Conclave’s five pillars: Maritime Safety and Security; Countering Terrorism and Radicalization; Combating Transnational Organized Crime; Cybersecurity and Protection of Critical Infrastructure; and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. The participants will also discuss the roadmap and action plan for 2026.
The CSC, formed to strengthen regional security in the Indian Ocean region, has held regular engagements, including the 6th NSA meeting in Mauritius in December 2023 and the signing ceremony for its founding documents in Sri Lanka in August 2024. Deputy NSAs from member countries have also met virtually, with the last session in July 2024.
“The core objective of the Colombo Security Conclave is to promote regional security by addressing transnational threats and challenges of common concern to the member states,” the MEA said, underscoring the Conclave’s role in enhancing cooperation across strategic security domains.
