
Security meeting led by Amit Shah in J & K
New Delhi, April 22 (ANI): Following the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting with all relevant agencies. The meeting, which took place after Shah’s arrival in Srinagar, focused on reviewing the situation and planning the next steps.
Shah condemned the attack, calling it a “dastardly act of terror”, and vowed that the perpetrators would face “harsh consequences”. He briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the incident and emphasized that those responsible would not be spared. Shah also confirmed that search operations were underway by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baisran, Pahalgam, to catch the attackers.
The incident has sparked local outrage, with candle marches held across Kashmir to protest the attack. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also attended the security meeting to provide updates on the situation.
Leaders from across the country, including President Droupadi Murmu and PM Modi, strongly condemned the attack. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to fighting terrorism, stating that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
Delhi Police has been instructed to monitor tourist destinations and other significant locations across India closely.
