
New Delhi [India], April 13 (ANI): General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited forward areas in Punjab along the western borders. During his visit, he interacted with senior officers of the Border Security Force (BSF) and discussed key aspects of national security in the region.
Focus of the Discussions
The discussions primarily focused on the shared challenges faced by both the Indian Army and the BSF, as well as the evolving threats along the western borders. The collaboration between the two forces and the strengthening of coordination to address these threats were central topics of conversation. The visit underscored the seamless synergy and mutual respect between the Army and the BSF.
Camaraderie and Gesture of Appreciation
As part of the visit, Gen Dwivedi presented a memento to the BSF officers as a gesture of camaraderie and recognition of their shared responsibilities in national security. In return, the BSF reciprocated by presenting a memento to the esteemed COAS, highlighting the strong partnership between the two forces.
Operational Readiness Assessment
On April 12, General Dwivedi also visited the Vajra Corps of the Indian Army to assess its operational preparedness along the Western borders. He was briefed by the General Officer Commanding, Western Command, on the prevailing security situation and the readiness posture of the Corps. The visit also included trips to select forward locations to observe the ground-level preparations by frontline formations.
