Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 19 (ANI): In a powerful display of courage and precision, the Indian Army’s artillery gunners in the Akhnoor Sector effectively responded during the recent India-Pakistan tensions. On Monday, the artillery gunners demonstrated their accuracy during ceasefire violations by Pakistan, delivering a robust response that inflicted heavy losses on the adversary.
A soldier of the Indian Army stated that the primary objective of Operation Sindoor was to target and neutralize posts that were supporting terrorist activities. He emphasized the accuracy of the firing, stating, “The objective of Sindoor was quite clear to us — to target and neutralize the posts supporting terrorists. Our countermeasures ensured that we did not suffer any losses. The enemy suffered heavy losses due to our precise firing.”
Another soldier echoed similar sentiments, highlighting their task of targeting adversary forward posts that were aiding terrorist infrastructure and infiltration. He said, “Our task under Operation Sindoor was very clear — to target the enemy’s forward posts, which were supporting terrorist infrastructure and infiltration, and to neutralize them accurately. When the enemy violated the ceasefire and targeted our forward posts, we responded with strong, accurate, and effective firing. The enemy suffered significant damage and panic within their camps and military bases.”
Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The operation reportedly led to the elimination of over 100 terrorists belonging to outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. In retaliation, Pakistan engaged in cross-border shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) and attempted drone attacks in border areas. In response, India conducted a coordinated attack, damaging radar systems, communication centers, and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan. (ANI)
