Tehran [Iran], February 10 (ANI): Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called on the Iranian nation to demonstrate unity and resolve on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, stressing that such national steadfastness will frustrate the country’s enemies, according to Iranian state broadcaster Press TV.
In a televised message issued ahead of nationwide rallies scheduled for February 11 to mark the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei described the occasion as a powerful manifestation of Iran’s strength, dignity, and collective determination.
“Bahman 22nd (February 11) every year is the day of unveiling the power and dignity of the Iranian nation,” the Leader said, portraying the Iranian people as determined, resilient, appreciative, and fully aware of their circumstances.
He recalled that the nation achieved a “great victory” on February 11, 1979, by freeing itself from what he described as foreign interference, noting that external forces have continuously sought to undermine those achievements since the Revolution.
Building on this historical foundation, Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed that “the Iranian nation is standing firm,” adding that “the symbol of this steadfastness is Bahman 22nd.” He described the annual anniversary demonstrations as “unparalleled,” observing that no other country commemorates its independence with such consistent and widespread public participation.
“These rallies force those who covet Iran and its interests to retreat,” he said, underscoring their deterrent effect on external ambitions.
Highlighting the foundations of national strength, the Leader stated that “national power is related more to the will of nations and their steadfastness than to missiles and aircraft,” urging citizens to remain resolute in all aspects of life. “Disappoint the enemy,” he said, explaining that a nation remains vulnerable as long as its adversaries are not discouraged.
Ayatollah Khamenei identified unity, strong will, motivation, and resistance to outside pressure as the essential pillars of Iran’s national power. He also expressed hope that the country’s youth would continue to advance in science, ethical conduct, and both material and spiritual development, thereby contributing to national pride.
He noted that the February 11 rallies reflect these qualities, as citizens take to the streets to demonstrate unity, loyalty to the Islamic Republic, and dedication to the nation, voicing hope that this year’s events would further elevate Iran’s standing, as in previous years.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a warning to adversaries, stating that any threat to the country’s territory would be met with a “more forceful and wider” response, Press TV reported.
In a statement released on the eve of the Revolution’s 47th anniversary, the Armed Forces praised the Iranian nation’s endurance and pledged firm defence against external dangers. Iran, the statement said, “stands powerfully and with authority against any threat, conspiracy, and overreach, confronting threats with a more forceful and broader response.”
The statement emphasised that the Islamic Republic has consistently upheld its firm position in safeguarding national interests and core objectives. It comes amid heightened US military presence in the region and Washington’s threats of military action, even as indirect nuclear talks continue through Omani mediation.
Press TV reported that last June, Israel launched a 12-day conflict against Iran while US-Iran talks were still underway. The United States later joined the conflict, but Israel ultimately sought a ceasefire following what Iran described as robust counter-operations.
According to the statement, increasing pressure from adversaries—particularly the United States and Israel—has only strengthened Iran’s resolve and resistance.
“Now, after 47 years of the blessed Islamic Revolution, any fair- and free-minded person clearly sees that a powerful and independent Iran, despite all hostilities and pressures, has managed to conquer peaks of honor, progress, and self-reliance in scientific, defence, technological, social, and cultural arenas,” it said.
The statement added that global imperial powers, having lost influence with the fall of the Pahlavi regime, have harboured hostility toward Iran since the Revolution’s inception, employing assassination, sanctions, threats, and warmongering to obstruct its path.
“But by the grace of the wise leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the steadfastness of the insightful Iranian nation, they reaped nothing but humiliation, disgrace, and successive defeats,” it said.
The General Staff concluded by urging widespread public participation in the February 11 nationwide rallies, describing such mobilisation as a lasting display of strength that would once again thwart what it called the schemes of global arrogance, particularly the United States and Israel, against the Iranian people.
On Monday, Ayatollah Khamenei similarly called on the nation to demonstrate determination and endurance on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, reiterating that unity would frustrate the enemy. (ANI)
