Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], May 21 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday inaugurated Cognizant India’s Tech-Fin Delivery Centre at GIFT City, emphasizing India’s accelerating journey towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also lauded India’s preparedness to lead the knowledge-driven global economy, according to an official statement.
In his remarks, CM Patel began by congratulating Prime Minister Modi and the Indian Armed Forces on the success of Operation Sindoor, attributing the operation’s achievements in part to the use of modern technology. He underscored the significant transformation of India’s technological landscape over the last decade, crediting the Prime Minister’s Digital India initiative for making advanced technology accessible to everyday citizens.
Welcoming Cognizant’s expansion into Gujarat, the Chief Minister noted that the state, under the guidance of PM Modi, has fostered a supportive environment for innovation and emerging technologies. He further highlighted India’s advantage in having the world’s most affordable intellectual workforce and pointed to the increasing national focus on critical technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors.
CM Patel emphasized Gujarat’s role as a pioneer in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision. “Gujarat is taking the lead in making India a global force in soft power and the knowledge-based economy,” he said. He noted that three semiconductor plants are set to begin operations in the state and reiterated the government’s commitment to establishing an AI-driven ecosystem and promoting AI-based industries.
He also spoke about the creation of the AI Centre of Excellence at GIFT City, describing it as a robust platform that brings together experts, businesses, and startups to develop innovative solutions. To further boost investment and growth, the state has introduced the Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy, aimed at attracting global companies to establish operations in Gujarat.
“The launch of this policy has already drawn significant interest from major global firms,” he added.
GIFT City, Patel noted, stands as a testament to PM Modi’s unique vision and has become a global hub for talent, technology, and innovation. With numerous international companies setting up operations there, GIFT City has evolved into a leading ecosystem of cutting-edge development.
