BMW Group India Records Highest-Ever Sales of 18,001 Units in 2025
Gurugram, January 8: BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever annual sales, delivering 18,001 cars in calendar year 2025, marking a 14 per cent year-on-year growth, the company said on Wednesday.
Of the total car sales, BMW accounted for 17,271 units, while MINI delivered 730 units. In addition, BMW Motorrad sold 5,841 motorcycles during the year, reinforcing the group’s strong presence across premium mobility segments in India.
Consistent Growth Across Quarters
BMW Group India recorded its best performance in every month and quarter of 2025, outperforming the average growth of the Indian luxury car segment.
The October–December quarter was the strongest, with 6,023 units sold, reflecting a 17 per cent YoY increase.
Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said the company’s performance reflects strong consumer trust and aspiration.
“Crossing the 18,000-unit mark and growing faster than the luxury market demonstrates the confidence customers place in our brands. Growth is coming across all segments—ICE and EVs, SAVs and sedans, including long wheelbase models,” he said.
Electric Vehicles Lead the Charge
BMW Group India continued its dominance in the luxury electric vehicle (EV) segment, delivering 3,753 BMW and MINI EVs in 2025, a 200 per cent YoY growth.
EVs accounted for 21 per cent of total sales, up from 8 per cent in 2024. BMW remains the market leader in luxury EVs, with the BMW i7 leading the top end and the BMW iX1 emerging as the highest-selling premium EV in India.
Customers now have access to over 6,000 charging points nationwide, supported by initiatives such as Destination Charging, Smart E-Routing, Charging Concierge, and High-Performance Electric Corridors.
Strong Demand for Long Wheelbase Models
Long wheelbase BMW models recorded 162 per cent growth, with 8,608 units sold, now contributing 50 per cent of BMW’s total sales, compared to 29 per cent last year.
The BMW 3 Series remained the highest-selling premium sedan in its segment.
SAVs and MINI Performance
BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) grew 22 per cent YoY to 10,748 units, accounting for 60 per cent of total car sales. The BMW X1 was the top-selling SAV, followed by the BMW X5.
MINI India sold 730 units, posting 3 per cent growth, with the MINI Cooper S registering a 47 per cent increase in sales.
BMW Motorrad Strengthens Leadership
BMW Motorrad remained the leading premium motorcycle brand in India’s high-performance segment. The BMW G 310 RR was the highest-selling model, with 24 per cent growth, while imported models such as the S 1000 RR and 1300 GS/GSA saw steady demand.
Retail Expansion and Financial Services
BMW Group India currently operates 97 touchpoints across 40 cities. In 2026, it plans to add 19 new outlets in 18 cities under its Retail.NEXT immersive retail concept.
BMW India Financial Services continued to support growth through BMW Smart Finance, offering flexible ownership options, assured buy-back, and upgrade solutions aimed at improving affordability and customer retention. (ANI)
