Bodhi Tree Multimedia Ltd, a leading Indian content production company, has launched CastMatch, the country’s first conversational AI-driven casting platform. The tool marks a major shift in how casting is conducted by replacing traditional software with a simple chat-based interface.
The platform allows users to describe their casting needs through conversation—without dashboards, forms, or training—automatically generating tailored shortlists within seconds.
Casting in Under a Minute
During production testing, CastMatch cut the casting shortlist creation time from 2–3 hours to less than 60 seconds, a 98% reduction. It searches across more than 15,000 actor profiles using AI that interprets context rather than relying solely on keywords.
Hybrid AI for Speed and Accuracy
CastMatch is built on a hybrid architecture that blends local AI models with OpenAI’s GPT-4. It also uses 1536-dimension semantic embeddings to deliver highly precise matches. Performance targets include:
- Actor search in under 500 milliseconds
- AI response in under 300 milliseconds (62% faster than industry norms)
- 99.9% uptime
- Operating cost below $0.50 per user per month
Part of a Larger AI Roadmap
The platform integrates 10 AI tools, including script analysis, role extraction, actor recommendations, and budget summaries. CastMatch is the first product in Bodhi Tree’s planned 12-Agent AI ecosystem spanning pre-production to post-production workflows. It is currently in closed beta with select studios and casting directors, with a commercial SaaS rollout planned.
Industry Perspective
Managing Director Mautik Tolia said the goal was not to refine casting software but to eliminate the need for it by mimicking natural human workflows through conversation.
Head of AI & Technology Aditya Pratap Singh highlighted the platform’s ability to drastically reduce decision time for casting professionals, calling CastMatch the first step in enhancing human judgment with AI-enabled efficiency.
