Amritsar, Punjab, April 22 (ANI): The Border Security Force (BSF) has continued its crackdown on cross-border smuggling attempts by recovering a Pakistani drone and two consignments of heroin in separate operations from the border areas of Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts.
- A search operation, based on information provided by a local villager, led to the recovery of a 500-gram packet of suspected heroin from a cauliflower field near Gola Dola village in Gurdaspur district.
- Another operation, jointly conducted by the BSF and Punjab Police, resulted in the recovery of a 558-gram packet of suspected heroin from a harvested field near Modhe village in Amritsar district.
Additionally, the BSF recovered a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone from a tree near Sarangdev village in Amritsar district. The drone is believed to have crashed due to technical interference from countermeasures deployed along the border.
These operations are part of ongoing efforts to curb smuggling and drone intrusions from across the border. The BSF has highlighted its successful implementation of electronic safeguards and reliable inputs to thwart such attempts. Earlier, on Monday, the BSF, in coordination with Punjab Police, recovered four Pakistani drones and large quantities of heroin in Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts.
The operations are part of continuous border surveillance aimed at enhancing security in the region.
