Cannes [France], May 23 (ANI): Actor Alia Bhatt made a stunning debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on Friday, turning heads with a vintage-inspired look in a custom Schiaparelli gown. The Highway star graced the iconic red carpet in a cream off-shoulder ensemble that showcased classic glamour with a contemporary edge.
Alia’s gown featured ecru Chantilly lace, adorned with organza and enamel floral embroidery on the bodice. The sleek, body-hugging silhouette was accentuated with dramatic tulle ruffles at the hem, adding a sense of movement and old-world charm. The ensemble quickly earned praise from fashion enthusiasts around the world.
“A vision in cream,” gushed fans online, while another remarked, “She ruled the red carpet.”
Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Alia completed her look with a neat bun, styled with a unique pattern along the edges, and makeup that kept her appearance radiant and dewy. Her styling choices resonated with the vintage aesthetic, elevating the overall impact of her debut.
Before her red carpet appearance, Alia shared a behind-the-scenes black-and-white image on Instagram Stories, holding a hand fan emblazoned with the L’Oréal slogan, “I’m worth it.” She appeared poised and graceful in front of the shutterbugs, even pausing to greet photographers with a traditional ‘namaste’ gesture—blending elegance with a touch of cultural pride.
Although initially expected to attend the opening ceremony, Alia postponed her travel due to heightened India-Pakistan tensions. She had earlier confirmed her Cannes debut during a press meet on her birthday in March.
“This is going to be my first year when I’m going to Cannes. So I’m very nervous and very excited… My team is encouraging me to experiment with new makeup looks—like blue or pink eyeshadow—something I’ve never tried before,” she shared.
With her debut, Alia Bhatt has not only marked her presence at Cannes but also made a powerful style statement, further solidifying her place on the global fashion map. (ANI)
