MUNICH, December 17 (ANI): Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday visited the BMW World museum in Munich, Germany, where he admired the feats of Indian engineering on display, including the TVS 450 cc motorcycle developed in partnership with the German automobile manufacturer.
“LoP Rahul Gandhi visited BMW World in Munich, Germany, and took a guided tour of BMW Welt and the BMW Plant. He was pleased to see TVS’s 450 cc motorcycle, developed in partnership with BMW—a proud moment to witness Indian engineering on display,” the Congress party posted on X.
Highlighting India’s talent, Gandhi criticized the Central government for allegedly squandering it. The party emphasized on X that manufacturing, the backbone of strong economies, is declining in India. “For us to accelerate growth, we need to produce more—build meaningful manufacturing ecosystems, and create high-quality jobs at scale,” the post read.
During the visit, Gandhi interacted with visitors while viewing various BMW cars on display. “India needs to start producing; production is the key to success in any country. Our manufacturing is declining; it should actually be going up,” he said. In a video shared by the party, Gandhi added, “We went to the BMW factory—fantastic experience—and I was particularly excited to see that they have a 450 cc bike, the TVS, and I think that’s going to do well. Good to see that the Indian flag is flying here.”
Rahul Gandhi received a warm welcome from the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) upon arrival at Berlin Airport during his five-day visit to Germany. He is scheduled to attend a major IOC event today, meeting party leaders across Europe. He was greeted with garlands by IOC teams.
The event aims to strengthen Congress’s global outreach and activities. The IOC stated that Rahul Gandhi will address the Indian diaspora and engage with various party presidents in Europe, discussing NRI issues and strategies to expand the party’s influence.
The five-day visit, announced during the Winter Session of Parliament, has drawn criticism from BJP leaders, who allege that his frequent trips call his dedication to the Indian Congress into question. The visit to Germany is scheduled to continue until December 20.
