
Kannur (Kerala) [India], August 14 (ANI): RSS-BJP workers were allegedly assaulted by CPI(M) activists on Wednesday night after leaving a house following a Raksha Bandhan celebration near Kayaralam Gopalan Peedika in Mayyil panchayat, Kannur, Kerala, police said.
Four people sustained injuries in the incident. Rajith, an RSS worker, was admitted to the hospital, while the others were discharged after receiving treatment. Among the injured is Soman, a former CPI(M) branch secretary who joined the BJP in April.
BJP Kannur North district president K.K. Vinodkumar called it a deliberate attack and demanded action against those responsible.
The Mayyil police have registered a case against 25 people in connection with the incident. Further details are awaited. (ANI)
