Dehradun, Uttarakhand, July 23 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday expressed happiness over the payment of ₹1,600 crore as the state’s pension share by the Uttar Pradesh government for the financial years 2021–22 and 2022–23. He also thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for facilitating the payment, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.
Dhami noted that improved coordination and ongoing dialogue between the two states have led to the expedited resolution of long-pending issues regarding assets and liabilities.
For the apportionment of pension expenditure between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the Accountant General of Uttar Pradesh had estimated a liability of ₹952.26 crore for 2021–22 and ₹1,309 crore for 2022–23, amounting to a total of ₹2,261.26 crore. Against this liability, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order to transfer ₹1,600 crore to Uttarakhand through an inter-state adjustment with the Reserve Bank of India in July 2025.
Separately, Dhami reiterated his government’s zero-tolerance stance toward irregularities in welfare programs, particularly scholarships. Taking serious note of frauds committed by some institutions registered on the National Scholarship Portal, including madrasas, Sanskrit schools, and other educational establishments, Dhami ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the embezzlement of scholarship funds using fake documents.
“The corrupt will not be spared,” the Chief Minister stated, emphasizing that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty of defrauding public welfare schemes. (ANI)
