Tel Aviv [Israel], April 7 (ANI): In a significant escalation of regional hostilities, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are intensifying military operations against Iranian strategic assets.
In a televised address, Netanyahu said the Israeli military is “crushing the terrorist regime in Iran,” adding that the offensive is being carried out “with even greater vigor, and increasing force.”
“I tell you constantly that we are crushing the terrorist regime in Iran. But we are doing so with even greater vigor and with increasing force. Yesterday, our pilots destroyed transport planes and dozens of helicopters at an Iranian Air Force base. Today, they attacked train tracks and bridges used by the Revolutionary Guards,” he said.
“They use these to transport raw materials for weapons, the weapons themselves, and the operatives who attack us, the United States, and countries in the region—the same operatives who also oppress the Iranian people,” he added.
Netanyahu emphasized that the strikes are not aimed at civilians.
“These actions, which I approved together with the minister of defense, are not intended to attack the Iranian people. On the contrary, they are intended to weaken and crush the regime that has oppressed them for 47 years. This is no longer the same Iran, nor is it the same Israel. We are changing the balance of power,” he said.
Reinforcing claims of strategic degradation, the IDF released footage showing strikes on Iran’s air defense systems. The video, captured by missile-mounted cameras, shows the final moments before impact on military infrastructure.
In a post on X, the IDF said, “Special footage from missile’s view: How the Air Force targets the terrorist Iranian regime’s air defense systems. In precise attacks guided by the intelligence branch of the Air Force, more than 130 air defense systems of the terrorist Iranian regime were destroyed.”
Israeli and US military briefings have highlighted coordinated efforts to neutralize Iranian missile and radar capabilities. The United States Central Command has also released footage showing targets being engaged during joint operations.
The impact of the strikes has begun to affect infrastructure across Iran. Electricity outages were reported Tuesday in parts of Karaj after projectiles hit transmission lines, according to Al Arabiya, citing Nournews, a media outlet close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
The offensive has also targeted transportation networks. A bridge on a key rail link in central Iran was struck, with Al Jazeera reporting that the Yahya Abad railway bridge in Kashan was hit.
Local authorities in Isfahan province said the strike killed two people, with emergency teams deployed to the scene.
The strike followed an advisory from the Israeli military warning Iranian citizens against using trains for their “safety” until 9 p.m. local time.
The targeted disruption of transport infrastructure reflects an escalation in regional tensions, extending the conflict’s impact across both energy and logistical sectors. (ANI)
