Speaking at the inauguration of the company’s advanced R&D campus in Pune, he said global trade challenges could accelerate India’s transformation into a self-reliant economy.
“This (US tariff) is forcing probably your governments, like Europe, to come to the table and negotiate, but there is also a good side — people are realising the need to create your own market to be less dependent on the rest of the world,” Daloz told ANI. “To become the third largest economy is meaningful, but you also need to increase GDP per capita. This will build the ability to fund a local economy and create an internal market. If these tariffs accelerate such transformations, maybe in 10 years we’ll say thanks to Mr Trump.”
Daloz emphasised a cultural shift towards entrepreneurship in India, stating, “You need to create the willingness and dream for young generations to become their own entrepreneurs and employers. I hope successful startups will emerge from the lab (R&D campus in Pune), creating inspiring stories that foster passion and will.”
The inauguration of Dassault Systèmes’ state-of-the-art Pune campus marks a major investment in India. The campus will be Dassault Systèmes’ largest in India and serve as a key hub in its global innovation network. It will strengthen collaboration with customers, academia, and startups while creating high-value jobs and research opportunities.
Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes, said, “India plays a vital role in our global R&D and services strategies. The Pune campus will enhance our commitments and accelerate portfolio growth with AI-powered generative experiences and virtual twins.”
Aligned with Dassault Systèmes’ sustainability vision, the Pune campus meets IGBC Green Building standards, featuring water recycling systems, CO₂-monitored high-efficiency air conditioning, energy-saving lighting automation, and over 610 KW+ of solar power generation, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
This expansion underscores Dassault Systèmes’ long-term vision for India as both a research powerhouse and a strategic market for global innovation.
