New Delhi, August 7 (ANI): National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, who is currently in Moscow, has stated that the dates for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India are still being worked out, according to sources on Thursday. They noted that no specific date or time was indicated by the NSA during his engagements, and reports suggesting a visit by the end of August are incorrect.
According to a video posted by Sputnik News, Doval remarked that India and Russia share a very special and long-standing relationship. “We have got a very special relationship, long relationship and we highly value our strategic partnership. We have had high-level engagements and these have contributed very substantially,” he said.
“We are very excited and delighted to learn about the visit of His Excellency, the President of Russia, President Putin, to India. I think that the dates are almost finalized now. The more important thing is that the summit meetings have always been a watershed point,” he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Russia in July last year, and he and President Putin expressed appreciation for the special nature of the time-tested relationship between their countries, which is built on trust, mutual understanding, and strategic convergence.
According to a joint statement following their meeting, the two leaders positively assessed the multi-faceted and mutually beneficial India-Russia relations that span a wide range of areas including political and strategic cooperation, military and security ties, trade and investment, energy, science and technology, nuclear energy, space collaboration, as well as cultural, educational, and humanitarian cooperation.
It was noted with satisfaction that both sides are actively exploring new avenues of cooperation while continuing to strengthen traditional areas of engagement.
The 11th Session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation was held in New Delhi on Wednesday under the framework of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation.
