New Delhi [India], December 12 (ANI): Vice President CP Radhakrishnan on Friday expressed profound sorrow over the deaths caused by a tragic bus accident in the Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh.
At least nine people were killed when a bus overturned on the ghat road between Chinturu and Bhadrachalam, according to ASR District Collector Dinesh Kumar. The accident occurred on the Tulasipakala Ghat road in Chintoor mandal, where a private bus fell into a gorge. The injured were immediately taken to Bhadrachalam Hospital for treatment.
Sharing a post on X, Radhakrishnan said he was “deeply saddened” by the loss of lives and extended his heartfelt condolences to the families affected. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those undergoing treatment. “Deeply saddened to learn about the loss of lives in the tragic bus accident in Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he wrote.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow for the victims and those affected, offering prayers for the injured. He stated that the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would provide financial support, announcing an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
President Droupadi Murmu extended her condolences and wished a speedy recovery for the injured travellers. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured families that officials have been instructed to provide assistance to the victims’ families.
