New Delhi [India], June 16 (ANI): The Defence Cyber Agency, operating under the Headquarters of the Integrated Defence Staff, launched a wide-ranging cyber security exercise titled ‘Cyber Suraksha’ on Monday. This initiative aims to simulate real-world cyber threats, reinforce best security practices, and sharpen the analytical and defensive capabilities of participants through an intensive, gamified environment.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the exercise began on June 16 and will continue until June 27, 2025. Over 100 participants from national-level agencies and various defence domains are actively engaged in the exercise.
“This multi-phased exercise is a proactive step towards bolstering cyber resilience at the national level and encompasses targeted training sessions, performance evaluations, and a leadership-focused capsule,” the official statement read.
Cyber Suraksha is structured to challenge participants with dynamic threat scenarios that mirror the complexity and speed of real-world cyberattacks. The gamified format is designed to enhance engagement and readiness, offering a hands-on learning experience in combating sophisticated cyber intrusions.
A key feature of the initiative is the inclusion of a Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) Conclave, which integrates technical strategy with leadership decision-making. The conclave includes keynote addresses by cybersecurity experts and culminates in an immersive Table-Top Exercise to evaluate strategic responses in critical scenarios.
“Combining structured learning with dynamic challenge environments will empower participants to act decisively in the face of cyber threats,” the statement added.
The Defence Cyber Agency has indicated its intention to conduct similar exercises on a regular basis to ensure a continuous state of operational preparedness and to promote a security-first culture throughout the defence ecosystem. (ANI)
