Virginia [US], October 1 (ANI): US President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned of an “invasion” within the United States, comparing it to a foreign enemy but more difficult to identify because they do not wear uniforms. He was addressing top US military officials at the Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia, according to CNN.
“We’re under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways because they don’t wear uniforms,” Trump said, as per the report.
The President revealed that he suggested to Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth the idea of using some of America’s most dangerous cities as training grounds for the military. “In our inner cities, which we’re going to be talking about because it’s a big part of war now. It’s a big part of war. I told Pete that we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military, National Guard, but military. Because we’re going into Chicago very soon,” Trump stated.
He further described San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles as “unsafe” cities, adding that his administration plans to tackle them one by one. “San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They’re very unsafe places. And we’re gonna straighten them out one-by-one. This is gonna be a major part for some of the people in this room. It’s a war, too. It’s a war from within,” Trump added.
Earlier, on September 21, Trump claimed that crime in Washington, DC had dropped significantly, saying the city had become “totally different from last year” due to his administration’s policing crackdown. He described the capital as “beautiful and safe,” attributing it to “good governance.”
Meanwhile, the administration has been planning to deploy the National Guard to Chicago as part of Trump’s broader anti-crime and immigration measures. (ANI)
