New Delhi [India], June 4 (ANI):
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will host the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan for the 4th India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi on June 6, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Wednesday. The 3rd meeting of the Dialogue was also held in New Delhi in December 2021.
The MEA highlighted that India and Central Asian countries, as part of each other’s “Extended Neighbourhood,” share close diplomatic relations grounded in millennia-old cultural and people-to-people ties. The India-Central Asia Dialogue and the inaugural India-Central Summit held virtually in January 2022 have significantly advanced this partnership.
At the 4th Dialogue, scheduled for June 6, the Foreign Ministers will discuss enhancing bilateral ties, focusing on trade, connectivity, technology, and development cooperation. They will also exchange views on regional security challenges and other pressing regional and global issues of mutual concern.
Ahead of the dialogue, the Foreign Ministers will participate in the India-Central Asia Business Council meeting on June 5, organized by the MEA in collaboration with FICCI.
The India-Central Asia Dialogue exemplifies the shared commitment of India and Central Asian nations to deepen their partnership based on friendship, trust, and mutual understanding.
Earlier this year in April, a delegation of 100 young achievers—including entrepreneurs, academicians, artists, sportspersons, and influencers—from the five Central Asian countries visited India from March 21-28 as part of India’s initiative under the first India-Central Asia Summit in January 2022. This youth exchange program is aimed at reinforcing the deep-rooted historical relations and cultural exchanges between India and Central Asia, which form the foundation of their contemporary multifaceted partnership.
