Washington, DC [US], July 8 (ANI): Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Monday declared that releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files will be a top priority for his newly launched political initiative, the ‘America Party,’ escalating his public feud with US President Donald Trump.
Musk first challenged Trump on the issue in a post on X, questioning: “How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?” When a user asked whether exposing the Epstein files ranks high on the America Party’s agenda, Musk replied with a “💯” emoji, underscoring his commitment. Earlier on Monday, Musk also mocked the Trump administration’s inaction on the Epstein case by posting an image captioned “The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter” showing “0000,” along with the message: “What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again.” Source
Epstein, a disgraced financier facing sex trafficking charges, died in a New York prison in 2019, sparking widespread speculation and demands for transparency about his alleged clients.
Musk’s focus on the Epstein files comes as part of his broader criticism of Trump and the Republican Party, following the passage of a major policy bill that Musk opposed. The fallout led Musk to announce the formation of the America Party, describing it as a platform to challenge the entrenched two-party system.
In response, Trump dismissed Musk’s initiative as “ridiculous” and called him a “train wreck,” claiming third parties only create “complete and total disruption and chaos.” On Truth Social, Trump added, “He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States — The System seems not designed for them.”
Announcing his party on X, Musk argued: “When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
The clash between the two marks a sharp reversal in their relationship. Trump once praised Musk for his cost-cutting efforts in government, awarded him a symbolic gold key to the White House, and included him in Cabinet meetings as part of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
But tensions have since escalated, with Trump even suggesting he could deport the South African-born US citizen and use DOGE against Musk’s companies.
The newly formed America Party is already positioning itself as an anti-establishment force, with the Epstein case emerging as one of its first rallying cries. (ANI)
