Moscow [Russia], September 28 (ANI): The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused Ukraine of planning a potential false-flag operation in Romania or Poland that could escalate into a global conflict, RT reported. In a Telegram post on Friday, spokeswoman Maria Zakharova cited Hungarian media reports alleging that Kyiv intends to stage acts of sabotage in NATO countries and blame Moscow.
“Europe has never been so close to the outbreak of World War 3 in modern history,” Zakharova wrote. She claimed Ukraine’s alleged plan involved repairing downed or intercepted Russian UAVs, arming them with lethal warheads, and sending them disguised as “Russian drones” to major NATO transport hubs in Poland and Romania. These UAVs, she said, would be operated by Ukrainian specialists. A simultaneous disinformation campaign across Europe would then allegedly be launched to pin the blame on Russia and provoke armed conflict between Russia and NATO.
Zakharova further stated that Russian-made ‘Geran’ drones were reportedly delivered on September 16 to the Yavorov training ground in western Ukraine, home to the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security of the Hetman Petro Sagaidachny National Academy. The drones, she said, were repaired at the LORTA plant in Lviv.
Citing Hungarian journalists, Zakharova claimed the alleged motive for such acts was the severe losses suffered by Ukraine’s armed forces. “The collapse of the army is no longer limited to the tactical level but has taken on a strategic dimension,” they said. Zakharova concluded: “If all this is confirmed, it means that Europe has never been so close to the start of World War 3.”
