RANGAREDDY, Telangana, Feb. 19 (ANI) — A man allegedly stabbed his ex-wife to death at an apartment in Green City Colony in Rangareddy district, police confirmed Thursday.
According to authorities, the victim had divorced the suspect and remarried, which investigators believe may have been a motive in the killing.
Personnel from Vanasthalipuram Police responded to the scene promptly after receiving information about the incident and have launched an investigation.
“We received information about the matter, reached the spot, and are investigating,” a police official told ANI.
Further details about the incident, including the identity of the victim and suspect, have not yet been released.
In a separate incident earlier this month, a woman lawyer, G. Swapna, was allegedly murdered by her brother and his associates over an ancestral property dispute in Telangana’s Moinabad area.
Police said the killing occurred Feb. 4 in Kethireddypally village when Swapna had gone to survey her ancestral land with her mother.
Authorities arrested four suspects identified as G. Raju, Errolla Sandeep, Vadde Veeresh, and Kavali Shiva Lingam. Investigators said the accused allegedly conspired to kill Swapna to seize her share of a disputed four-acre property.
Police recovered an Innova car, a scooter, four mobile phones, and a sickle believed to have been used in the crime.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly rammed their vehicle into Swapna, causing her to fall into a pit, before attacking her with sticks and stones and fatally slashing her throat. The investigation remains ongoing. (ANI)
