New Delhi [India], October 12 (ANI): EY and Microsoft on Sunday unveiled the AI Skills Passport, a free online learning program aimed at equipping students and early-career professionals with essential artificial intelligence (AI) skills. The initiative targets individuals aged 16 and above and is designed to provide equal access to quality AI education across India.
The AI Skills Passport is part of a global program that has already engaged over 40,000 participants, with 13,000 completions worldwide. In India, it is expected to help bridge the country’s AI skills gap, preparing young learners to thrive in the evolving digital economy.
Monesh Dange, Partner and Leader, Alliances and Ecosystems, EY India, stated, “In an era where AI is revolutionising work and redefining career paths, the launch of the AI Skills Passport addresses India’s growing demand for skilled AI talent. Together with Microsoft, we are committed to making this program both free and impactful, ensuring access for everyone to build AI skills.”
Bhaskar Basu, Enterprise Partnerships Leader, Microsoft India & South Asia, added, “AI is transforming India’s digital economy, with youth at its core. The AI Skills Passport reflects our vision of ‘AI for all’ and our commitment to fostering future-ready talent. The program, offered in English and Hindi, aims to equip 10 million Indians with essential AI skills by 2030, bridging the skills gap and creating job-linked opportunities for students and early-career professionals.”
The self-paced online program includes approximately 10 hours of learning content, covering AI fundamentals, responsible AI, and real-world industry applications across healthcare, finance, and technology. Learners also gain career readiness support, including resume tips, interview guidance, and networking insights. Participants receive a verifiable digital badge upon completion to enhance their career profiles.
As part of EY Ripples, EY’s global corporate responsibility initiative, the firm will collaborate with not-for-profit organisations to ensure students from economically weaker backgrounds can access the program. This includes mentorship and career guidance to help young Indians build sustainable, future-ready careers.
The EY-Microsoft partnership has earned multiple recognitions, including being named Microsoft Global Advisory Services Partner of the Year for five consecutive years. (ANI)
