Kutch (Gujarat) [India], April 4 (ANI): A massive fire broke out at a textile unit in the Kandla Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Saturday evening.
The blaze occurred at a company identified as Tex Polymer, a used-clothing facility, creating panic among local residents.
Fire brigade teams from KASEZ, the Municipal Corporation, and the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported.
Firefighting operations are currently underway to bring the situation under control, officials said.
According to an official, a major disaster involving a large-scale fire and potential loss of life was averted. Four fire brigade teams managed to bring the blaze under control by dousing it with water.
Earlier, another fire had broken out at a separate clothing unit within the KASEZ area. Further details are awaited. (ANI)
