Hamburg [Germany], June 18 (ANI): The city of Hamburg is set to host the 11th edition of India Week Hamburg, transforming the German metropolis into a vibrant center of Indo-German exchange, according to an official release.
Scheduled from June 23 to June 29, the week-long celebration will feature more than 70 events spanning business, culture, society, and knowledge under the overarching theme of “Positioning Partnerships.” The initiative aims to deepen India–Germany relations through dialogue, innovation, and cultural engagement.
The event will be officially inaugurated with a high-level Senate Reception at the historic Hamburg City Hall on June 23. The reception will include keynote speeches by Ajit Gupte, the Ambassador of India to Germany, and Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India. Renowned Indian actress Shabana Azmi is also slated to deliver a keynote address, setting the tone for a week rich in bilateral engagement.
India Week Hamburg 2025 will be structured around four central pillars: Business, Culture, Society, and Knowledge. Each pillar is designed to enhance cooperation and promote innovation in key areas such as economic partnerships, skilled migration, green technology, and cultural exchange.
Among the event’s highlights is the Hamburg India Business Day on June 24, co-hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and Hamburg business leaders. This forum will focus on innovation and logistics, fostering collaboration between the two nations’ industries.
That evening, the German-Indian Innovation Night will spotlight developments in artificial intelligence, tech startups, and cross-border technological cooperation. On June 29, the “Curry and Culture – India Food Fest” will offer the public a sensory journey through Indian cuisine, music, and dance, complemented by exhibitions from Indian and German artists.
The week will also include strategic communication sessions, Ayurveda workshops, and panels addressing legal reform, sustainable mobility, women in green jobs, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the labor market. Discussions will also explore the future of German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in cooperation with India.
Since its inception in 2007, India Week Hamburg has served as a platform to celebrate the strong and multifaceted relationship between Hamburg and India. It continues to showcase the diversity of Indian culture while promoting collaboration across politics, business, science, and society. (ANI)
