Tel Aviv, May 4 (ANI/TPS): A missile launched by the Houthi rebels landed near a grove adjacent to an access road to Ben-Gurion International Airport on Sunday morning, marking the first time a missile has hit inside the airport complex, according to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
The attack resulted in at least one person being injured in a nearby parking lot, with the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Employees’ Committee confirming the injury near Terminal 3, close to where planes were stationed.
Following the missile strike, both arrivals and departures at the airport were temporarily suspended as workers conducted a thorough check of the runways. The attack also triggered air raid sirens across central Israel, including in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and as far north as Nahariya on the coast.
In a post shared on X, the IDF confirmed the incident, stating, “Sirens sounded across Israel due to a projectile launch from Yemen.” The IDF is currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding the attack.
