Bikaner (Rajasthan) [India], December 10 (ANI): The India-Malaysia joint military exercise, “Harimau Shakti 2025,” has entered a high-intensity training phase featuring advanced tactical manoeuvres and heliborne insertion techniques, aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational synergy between the Indian Army and the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The fifth edition of the exercise is being conducted at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan from December 5 to 18. Troops have been introduced to Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorism (CI/CT) concepts, complemented by lecture-cum-demonstrations on patrolling techniques. Mixed teams conducted joint patrolling rehearsals to refine coordination, improve situational responsiveness, and enhance mission planning under simulated operational conditions.
Ambush theory sessions and practical drills strengthened small-team offensive capabilities, while a structured Command Post Exercise (CPX) reinforced tactical planning and battlefield management skills. Slithering drills, showcasing critical heliborne insertion techniques in dense and restrictive terrain, added further operational realism.
With modules including ambush manoeuvres, slithering demonstrations, live firing exercises, and seamless joint patrolling, Harimau Shakti 2025 continues to elevate tactical proficiency, adaptability to modern warfare, and combined combat readiness.
The exercise underscores the deepening defence cooperation and mutual trust between India and Malaysia, aiming to rehearse Sub-Conventional Operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate. It covers joint responses during counter-terrorist operations, including cordon-and-search missions and heliborne operations. Additionally, Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR), combat reflex shooting, and Yoga are integrated into the training curriculum.
