Ramallah [Palestine], June 14 (ANI): Amid escalating conflict in West Asia following Israel’s military operations in Iran, India has issued an advisory urging its nationals in Palestine to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to local safety and emergency protocols.
India’s Representative Office in Ramallah released a statement on Friday advising Indian citizens to “exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement.” The advisory also provided emergency contact details, stating, “In case of an emergency, please contact us at +970592916418 or [email protected]. We remain at your disposal for any further guidance.”
The advisory follows a significant escalation in regional hostilities, sparked by a series of Israeli strikes on Iranian territory. On Friday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed a “precise, preemptive strike” targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said the strikes were in direct response to Iranian aggression and aimed to degrade Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the commencement of Operation Rising Lion, a large-scale military campaign designed to neutralize what he described as an “existential threat” from Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Netanyahu declared that multiple high-value targets had been hit in a decisive first wave. “Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” he said, vowing that the mission would continue “for as many days as it takes to remove this threat.”
Netanyahu accused Iran of accelerating its nuclear weapons ambitions in defiance of global warnings. “In recent years, Iran has produced enough highly enriched uranium for nine atom bombs,” he said, warning that Iran could weaponize the material within months.
In a swift and defiant response, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the Israeli attacks, calling them a “grave error” and promising retaliation. In a series of posts on X, Khamenei warned that Iran would not let the deaths of its “valued martyrs” go unanswered, nor would it ignore violations of its airspace.
“The Zionist regime has made a big mistake, a grave error, and committed a reckless act,” Khamenei stated. “Our Armed Forces are ready, and the country’s officials and all the people are behind the Armed Forces.”
Promising a forceful reply, Khamenei added, “Today, we must give a strong response to the evil, despicable, terrorist Zionist identity. God willing, we will respond with strength and will show no mercy to them. Life will definitely become bitter for the Zionists.”
As regional tensions continue to rise, Indian authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have reiterated their commitment to the safety of Indian nationals abroad. (ANI)
