Pune (Maharashtra) [India], November 9 (ANI): As part of Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army has organised a National Integration Tour (NIT) for 20 students and four teachers from the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative, conducted by the Ace of Spades Division under the White Knight Corps, runs from November 3 to November 14 and aims to foster national integration while providing youth from border areas with firsthand exposure to India’s diversity and development.
The tour, flagged off from Rajouri on November 3, includes visits to Pune, Nasik, and Ahilyanagar. Students will explore premier defence and educational institutions, such as the National Defence Academy (NDA), Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Armoured Corps Centre & School, School of Artillery, Symbiosis International University, and ILS Law College.
During a visit to Headquarters Southern Command, Pune, on November 8, the students interacted with Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command. He shared insights on leadership, discipline, and nation-building, inspiring students to pursue their aspirations with dedication and contribute meaningfully to national progress. Many students expressed a desire to join the Armed Forces following the session.
The tour also included a visit to the Southern Command National War Memorial, commemorating soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice. The experience deepened students’ respect for the courage, selfless service, and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces.
The initiative is designed to broaden the horizons of students from remote areas, allowing them to appreciate India’s technological and educational advancements while strengthening their emotional connection with the nation. Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army, describing the tour as an eye-opening and motivational journey.
