Berlin [Germany], April 27 (ANI): The Indian diaspora in Frankfurt staged a protest rally on Sunday in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists. More than 300 members of the Indian diaspora gathered in front of the Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station). They marched to Dom Römer, passing through central Frankfurt’s prominent streets to express solidarity with the victims’ families.
Protesters carried placards and banners condemning the cross-border terrorist attack, with strong slogans against Pakistan and the state-sponsored terrorism it supports. Speakers at the rally condemned the “heinous and cowardly” nature of the attack and highlighted the global threat posed by terrorism. The peaceful demonstration concluded around 4 p.m. local time.
In a solemn gesture, the Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple in Berlin organized a Shanti Homa (Prayer for Peace) for the 26 lives lost in the attack. The gathering was an expression of grief and solidarity, with the Indian Hindu community coming together to pray for the victims and their families. The temple’s statement emphasized that the gathering was not just for mourning, but a reaffirmation of commitment to peace, unity, and resilience.
Organized by Hindu Forum Canada, COHNA, and several other Hindu organizations, the event on Saturday brought together over 500 Hindus, Jews, Baloch, Iranians, and other Canadians who marched through Toronto’s streets chanting “Pakistan Murdabad” and calling on the Canadian government to officially designate Pakistan as a terrorist state.
Meanwhile, in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat, assuring the victims’ families that the perpetrators would face the harshest possible response. Modi stated, “The whole world stands with 140 crore Indians in our fight against terrorism,” reaffirming the nation’s resolve for justice. (ANI)
