New York [US], August 4 (ANI): Ambassador of India to the United States Vinay Kwatra, during an interaction with the Indian diaspora, highlighted the recent opening of eight new Indian Consular Application Centres across the U.S., emphasizing the Government of India’s commitment to accessible and people-centric consular services.
The event took place at the Indian Consulate in New York on Saturday, where Ambassador Kwatra engaged with prominent members of the Indian-American community from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
“Ambassador Vinay Kwatra interacted with prominent members of the Indian-American community… and echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appreciation of the Indian diaspora as a dynamic ‘living bridge,’” the Indian Consulate stated.
He praised the diaspora’s vital role in strengthening India-U.S. relations and underscored the Indian government’s continued focus on enhancing consular outreach and efficiency.
Ambassador Kwatra specifically pointed to the establishment of eight new Consular Application Centres across the United States as a “clear manifestation” of India’s commitment to serving its global citizens more effectively.
Earlier, on August 2, the Ambassador virtually inaugurated Consular Application Centres in Edison, New Jersey; Columbus, Ohio; and Boston, Massachusetts—under the jurisdiction of the Indian Consulate in New York.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in the U.S. stated:
“Ambassador Vinay Kwatra virtually inaugurated the Indian Consular Application Centres in Edison, New Jersey; Columbus, Ohio; and Boston, Massachusetts… At the Edison Centre, Mayor of Edison Mr. Samip Joshi, community leaders, and media representatives attended the event.”
Following the inauguration, a media interaction and community outreach session was held, during which Consul General Binaya Pradhan and local leaders discussed recent steps taken by the Indian government to streamline consular services. Attendees also offered feedback and suggestions for improving efficiency, accessibility, and overall user experience.
“The Government of India remains deeply committed to ensuring prompt, people-centric service delivery for the Indian diaspora,” the Consulate added. (ANI)
