Tehran [Iran], February 10 (ANI): The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has warned adversaries of a “more forceful and wider” response to any threats against the country’s territory, according to Iranian state broadcaster Press TV.
In a statement issued on Tuesday on the eve of the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, the General Staff praised the Iranian nation’s endurance and pledged a firm defense against external dangers. Iran “stands powerfully and with authority against any threat, conspiracy, and overreach, confronting threats with a more forceful and broader response,” the statement said.
The armed forces emphasized that the Islamic Republic has consistently upheld a firm position in protecting national interests and core objectives.
The warning comes amid a heightened US military presence in the region and threats of military action from Washington, even as indirect nuclear discussions continue through Oman’s mediation. Press TV reported that last June, Israel launched a 12-day conflict against Iran while US-Iran talks were still underway to address key disputes diplomatically. The United States later entered the conflict, but Israel ultimately sought a ceasefire following what Iran described as robust counter-operations.
The statement noted that escalating pressure from adversaries, particularly the United States and Israel, has only strengthened Iran’s resolve and resistance.
“Now, after 47 years of the blessed Islamic Revolution, any fair- and free-minded person clearly sees that a powerful and independent Iran, despite all hostilities and pressures, has managed to conquer peaks of honor, progress, and self-reliance in scientific, defense, technological, social, and cultural arenas,” it said.
It added that global powers, having lost influence after the fall of the Pahlavi regime, have harbored hostility toward Iran since the beginning of the Revolution. “Through assassination, sowing insecurity, sanctions, threats, and warmongering, they tried to block the path of the Revolution,” the statement said.
“By the grace of the wise leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the steadfastness of the insightful Iranian nation, they reaped nothing but humiliation, disgrace, and successive defeats,” it added.
The General Staff also called on citizens to demonstrate unity and solidarity through widespread participation in nationwide rallies scheduled for February 11, saying the public mobilization would once again thwart the schemes of what it described as hostile global powers.
On Monday, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Iranian people to display determination and endurance on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, noting that such cohesion would frustrate adversaries.
